Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 on March 10

Yesterday Mozilla updated its release schedule to include Firefox 3.1 Beta 3, set to go live on March 10th at 2pm PST. Whether or not it actually lands in the hands of public end-users is another question. Believe it or not, Firefox 3.1 hasn’t seen a major upgrade since June 2008, however hopeful users seeking new features and improvements of the Internet browser can expect to see Beta 3 to go live on March 10. Microsoft To Start Shipping Windows 7 In September 2009

Microsoft could have Windows 7 on shipping PCs by September, Compal president Ray Chen said today at an investor’s conference. The PC contractor executive understands from plans that the software should be available in either late September or early October. The news would corroborate word of an April release candidate that would let Microsoft finish, manufacture and deliver Windows 7 well ahead of the holidays. Microsoft Launches Celebrity Site Wonderwall

Microsoft has partnered with media company BermanBraun Interactive to launch an entertainment and celebrity site for MSN called Wonderwall. With a slew of similar entertainment focused sites already in existence, Microsoft’s move is a gamble, but the company says the entertainment gossip category continues to grow and in the last year it increased 14 percent.
